The Somali Small and Medium Enterprise Facility (SMEF), a facility to provide technical assistance, training, and coaching to entrepreneurs and investors, business development service providers (BDS) and TVET providers. SMEF) is a World Bank funded programme implemented by BDO LLP. SMEF address market skills gaps in the priority sector of the economy through direct and indirect capacity building in business and technical services.
The overarching objective of the SME Facility is to assist Somali entrepreneurs to plan, implement, manage, and develop successful businesses.
SMEF is carrying out a skills training and entrepreneurship pilot (STEP) programme that will provide employment and market access for young women in Somaliland.
SMEF is created to offers an integrated package of services to SMEs, BDS, TEVT trainees and young girls seeking for employability skills.
